Chicken Little…is the sky falling?
Listen, this bailout bill is NOT to free up choked credit…it’s to save the “way of life” of the very rich. Let THEM pay for once.
There is NOTHING in this “bailout” package to help WE THE PEOPLE. It won’t lower the price of the gas; it won’t protect you from losing your home; and it won’t give you health insurance. Put your hands up…this is the biggest robbery in the history of this country, and it’s being done by our own government.
Look, even Paulson can’t figure out this mess nor can he explain it to anyone, and he’s the Treasury Secretary.
Can any of YOU explain it? Anyone? I don’t know about you but I want more information before I agree to dole out $700 BILLION!
I have a pretty good grasp of my own portfolio but I couldn’t tell you how the whole system works any more than I can explain how my computer works. It just does; and I count on it to do what I ask every day. When it burps, I call my IT guy. Hey, maybe Roy can save us!! But, I think we’ve all been counting on Wall Street to work too, and the fat cats who run it have failed us. No surprise – but I think we let them!
Does this seem to be a case of the haves against the have-not’s? Maybe, but actually I think the “haves” win because even if one of their homes burns down, they have a back up or two (and I know a thing or two about house fires). Hey, I’m not against anyone having everything they want, I just don’t think it’s necessary to rape your fellow man to get it.
A very wise friend suggested I read the beginning of the Declaration of Independence. I did. Here is some of what our forefathers wrote:
“…We hold these truths to be self-evident…that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive…it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness…”
So how did all of us allow things get so out of control? We’ve all become complacent and now is the time for us ALL to stand up and speak out.
Call your Senators and Representatives. Hell, call McCain or Obama. Don’t let people you don’t even know…even if you voted for them…decide what happens to your money without a clear picture of how you’ll get it back, with interest.
Stand up and speak out…or forever hold your peace!
